Walk-in Clinic, South Shore Regional Hospital. If you have an non-urgent matter, you can wait on the third floor at Ambulatory Care for a doctor. There is a wait and certain hours. Visit the link for more info.

Walk-in Clinic, Our Health Centre (Chester). Walk in services are available for folks without a family doctor or health care practitioner. Please see website for complete times, details, and information.

Public Health Services. Provides communities with disease prevention, vaccines, and much more. Has locations in smaller areas like Chester and New Germany. Main office number is 902.543.0850.

New Ross Family Resource Centre. A nurse practitioner and doctor do outreach through the centre. Call to learn more, as well as ask about Pap tests (902-275-4414 ).

South Shore Health Find a Physician or Nurse Practitioner. Call 902.527.5057 to find current information on doctors and nurse practitioners accepting new patients.

Well Women’s Clinic. Leave message at 902.543.1452 to be put on the list for the next clinic. Priority goes to people without family doctors or nurse practitioners. There can be a wait until enough people are on the list.

Halifax Sexual Health Centre. Provides many clinical services, including birth control prescriptions, pap tests, abortion referrals, IUD insertions, and anonymous STI testing. All services are confidential and non-judgemental.

IWK Women’s and Newborns Health Services. Women from the South Shore area may be referred to the IWK for particular health concerns during pregnancy and childbirth.

Nova Scotia Breast Screening. Schedule a mammogram by calling 1-800-565-0548 toll free.

Nova Scotia Wait Times. Click to receive current wait times for many procedures, including ultrasounds, prostate cancer surgery, circumcision, and tubal ligation. Will give times for individual hospitals including Bridgewater.
